Hanwha Defence Australia appoints Ben Hudson as CEO

Effective from June 2, Mr Ben Hudson is the Chief Executive Officer of Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA).

Mr Hudson’s experience in Europe and Australia gives him a unique background to lead HDA as the company works towards delivering the Huntsman family of vehicles LAND 8116 Phase 1 Protected Mobile Fires and the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) under LAND 400 Phase 3.

“I am pleased to be joining the team at HDA during such an important point of the company’s growth,” Mr Hudson said.

"With this leadership transition, we are strengthening our commitment to supporting the growth of Australia’s defence industrial base and further enhancing the nation’s sovereign capabilities,” Mike Coulter Hanwha Aerospace Global Defense CEO said.

Having worked with and led teams in BAE Systems, Rheinmetall, General Dynamics and Mr Hudson also a veteran of the Australian Army, and his leadership will see the company expand its Australian footprint.

Outgoing Acting Managing Director Mr Dean Michie, who will become General Manager Corporate, has welcomed the confirmation after spending 12 months acting the in the role.
